SFC William Farrell - Also on that post We had the M60, plus on the top level a 50 caliber, a Vietnamese guy in a nearby small bunker with a WWII vintage 30 caliber plus We had Claymore mines along a section of the perimeter in that area. This picture here is a few hundred feet down the line in a tower and West of that first post picture. The road You see has a fence in front of it and where the upright posts or located concertina Wire with Claymore's behind it. I had a box We made up that had switches to blow the Claymore's when needed. Forward of that dirt road are rice paddies.

SGT Lou Meza - I was 20 when I arrived in Vietnam, on 01 Oct 68 I was promoted to Sergeant and on 19 Oct 68 exactly 18 days later was My 21st Birthday. Guess My Birthday present was My 3rd Stripe. I had been in country 7 months at that point.

I got to be pretty good with this at the range. As a flyer I lugged them around a lot but never got to use one.
