Good morning RP. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Zodiacal Road." Did you know that there is a dust cloud orbiting our Sun? Me neither. At certain times of the year, a band of sun-reflecting dust from the inner Solar System appears prominently just after sunset -- or just before sunrise -- and is called zodiacal light. One source of this dust may be the over 400 known Jupiter-family comets. A Jupiter-family comet follows an orbit primarily determined by Jupiter and has an orbital period less than 20 years. This theory was bolstered by data gathered from the Rosetta spacecraft in November 2014.
