Those of us on the left shouldn't get smug about the far right shooter in El Paso. Historically extremism has had no political ideology, it spans the left and the right.

Motivation is important. Did he attack from liberal ideals? I don't see that.

MAJ Bryan Zeski No indication of that and yes motivation is important. In this case, whatever his motivation was, it probably wasn't far right extremism.

SPC Kevin Ford - I agree. I don't think his motivation was far right extremism. It also wasn't left extremism. Given the fact that his ex-girlfriend was one of the victims, I'm going with this being essentially a domestic violence situation taken to the extreme.
