My post was in response to 1SG Grisham who had the wind field as opposed to the forecast track. Big difference between a 5-10% chance of 35 mph winds versus hurricane force winds.

1SG Cj Grisham - He did screw up and according to the National Weather Service, he was flat out wrong. As someone who currently works for FEMA, I can tell you POTUS relayed outdated information to the public that was not helpful. This is not just about what happens in the media. When communities in the path of a hurricane receive notice, that normally triggers several emergency preparedness activities. If the White House is to be a trusted source of information, that information must be credible, factual and as up-to-date as possible. In this case that did not happen. Moreover, the altering of an official NOAA map by someone in the White House is worthy of condemnation.

CMSgt Al Nall being "wrong" is different from being a "pathological liar." Every president is wrong a LOT. Nothing special about Trump.

1SG Cj Grisham - Insisting you were right afterwards is a problem. Changing an official map with a sharpie to cover your your ass is a problem.

So you are in agreement that Alabama was always 100% safe from any possible effect from Dorian just because 5-day forecasts stopped it just before?

Sgt John Steinmeier - I know that an old forecast was used and instead of admitting a mistake, POTUS chose to double down. This is a bad example of leadership.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Is this really all we have to go after him for? Man this is grasping for straws.

This issue I have is that when he tweeted and then had the press release the storm was locked in as not crossing Florida at all. He simply had to come out and say the storm changed track and was no longer a threat to Alabama but just couldn't do that.

I don't know but it is rapidly becoming that now. I have to admit, I get caught up in some of these conversations and just have to walk away. I didn't join FB and don't have an account becaue of the stuff that is posted and now it is on RP. I would venture to say that over 90% of the conversations posted here (religion/politics/gender/LGBTQ/et al) have nothing toto do with the military or veterans issues...just another venue for people to vent. I have left RP for a brief period of time because I had toblock someone that called me everything but what I was and was attacking me because of a decision I shared from when I was a commander. You are right, it might as well be a RP page in FB because that is where it is heading.
