Saturday’s Topic” Holistic Practices for Coping with PTSD!”

Robert Greene is a US Navy veteran, Yoga teacher, martial arts teacher and sustainable living advocate. After being diagnosed as 100% service connected with PTSD, he decided to take his healing into his own hands by going on a journey into ancient practices to master the mind, body and spirit. In summer, 2016 Robert ventured to China to immerse himself in traditional Shaolin Kung Fu at the Longshan Temple, Jiang Tai Gong Martial Arts Academy in Shandong Rizhao China. During his time in China he was a private student of Master Zhang, a 32nd generation Shaolin Grandmaster. During that time he became proficient in Wing Chun, Loa Han Fist and in Qi Gong. He did this as a means of restoring a sense of discipline in himself, cope with his anger issues and to regain his warrior spirit that was lost after leaving the military. He is also a certified instructor of Escrima de Cuerdas, a style of Filipino martial arts that focuses on short range weapons fighting using knives, baston (spanish short sword) and machetes.

Robert also chose to balance his yin/yang energies through the practice of yoga and mediation. He was certified as a meditation teacher by Swami Sachinanada Ji in Himachal Pradesh, India in 2016. Since then he has been incorporating aspects of yoga into his martial arts practice. In 2017 Robert decided to deepen his practice in asentic yoga under the tutelage of a Naga Saddhu in Uttarakhand Rishikesh India. Living as a renounciate in the jungles of the Himalayas taught him the truest essence of the yogic practice and how to master the mind and body through the power of thought, willpower and determination. Currently Robert and his current partner Robyn run a wellness retreat company called Green Earth Wellness Retreats based out of Bali Indonesia and Boracay, Philippines.
