Bush had Katrina. Trump has Coronavirus. Both were very unprepared for the disasters. A Katrina AAR should have fixed federal planning an responses, but nobody used the National Emergency Framework. We got burnt by treating the pandemic as improbable, and spewing blame on others and promulgating glorious prognosis’s made the situation unrealistic.
DHS is the lead agency and focal point for national disaster preparedness an mitigation. Trump appointed a Director of DHS who had absolutely no experience running DHS. Trump wanted a political appointee. The blind were leading the blind. National Emergency was declared on 13MAR. The act frees up federal funds to support fighting the pandemic. However, waiting for the declaration curtailed the purchase of requisite supplies, test, gear, ventilators. That is why we are running out of stuff. Hospitals and states were given no lead time to use federal funds. I am goin to put the onus on Trump, his cronies, and administration who did not have the creativity, intelligence, and understanding of the National Disaster Framework to prepare for the pandemic. It has been planned very poorly which is showing as we execute requisite tasks an missions.

what you bring to the table is your pompous self worth, lack of imagination, limitations, ignorance, and a can do attitude. You bitch, but yet you are not a problem solver. You think Trump is doing s good job as the pendency grows significantly every day. First responders and medical staff are falling victim to Coronavirus. It’s chaos in the hospitals as they often lack PPE, supplies, ventilators, and hospital beds. Make shift morgues are in use. Trump has said some silly comments like this will all go away like a dream. We have it under control. This tells a me that you reside in the alternate reality trump lives in. You are quite heavy handed to discount how the federal government should plan, but you give nothing in return as an alternative. I really think you are ignorant to the whole process. Add your ego into the mix and I can paint you easily as the pompous fool that you are. You are ignorant, lack problem solving skills, self righteous, and a charlatan.
