Tennessee Ernie Ford hosting some injured servicemen in South Lake Tahoe in the fall of 1969. I can't help but notice that handsome devil to the far left in the picture holding his beret and "PRYOR" written in his name tag. He kind of resembles my profile picture.

SFC Richard Williamson - The crazy thing, it didn't even hurt. I felt nothing. It allowed me to finally pursue my life dream to become a farmer.

SFC Richard Williamson - There is funny thing for those who, like me, dislike politicians. I was in my second term as a City Councilman when that happened. I handed in my resignation with less than a month notice and moved half way across the state to where I took up farming. My standing joke is that I despise politicians so much that during my time on the council I refused to talk to myself.

SGT Robert Pryor - A "stuck-up/conceited" politician. Imagine that! LOL
That's a good one. Can't say that I like them either. Now, you're a farmer a talk to some stranger on the other side of the country. I'm guessing you found your true calling. What kind of farming?

Boy, do I remember listening to this one when it was new.
Also watched TEF on his television variety show. He was a smooth entertainer.
Thanks for posting this one SFC Willliamson and have a great day!

I love his singing, no matter which genre; Country or Western. LOL and Gospell, of course, first and foremost.

Sixteen Tons sung by Tennessee Ernie Ford is one of my all time favorites, SFC Richard Williamson! I never knew until now , though, it was written by Merle Travis and he recorded it first! Listen to his version and you can easily tell why Ford’s version became the hit!

Thanks, Steve ~
I didn't know Merle Travis had written this song and suspect the reason it later became a hit is that TEF sang it in that rich, bass-baritone voice that made it a hit.
Either way, it's a classic.
Have a great day, brother, and stay well!

LTC Wayne Brandon - I've probably heard this many times, but was most likely too young to remember, or I'm too old now to remember. lol
