Private companies can do whatever they want. The number of customers and the scope of the company's business is really immaterial. How are Facebook and Google any different from a bakery that refused gays as customers?

Lt Col Charlie Brown Supreme Court tossed that case saying that baker can discriminate and not bake the cake.

But if I recall there have been bakeries who have been forced to cater to guys or be force out of business or fined heavily.

I don't know about that but I do remember one in Colorado and I think one or two more on the west coast went to court to defend their rights.

Should the FCC have some say-so in this? Not that they have done much with complaints about robocalls.

They have no power to lisence or fine these companies, sincne they down own the backbone for the internet. The FCC was created to govern the use of Radio Frequencies.
