I'm the same - he is, as you say, a complete idiot and vehement in his hatret of any conservative values. I did however, watch "The Irishman," only because I'm a history nut and I read the book that the movie is based upon - "I Hear You Paint Houses," a mob term for a hit. The gist is the blood splatter when someone is murdered with a gun.
The book is excellent, and by the Irishman's attorney. There's a photo in it - the ONLY one that DiNiro would've been "fit" to play that part. It's the Irishman in a wheelchair with a cane shortly before his death. DiNiro would've fit THAT part as an old man. In the movie, about the time the Irishman would've been in his 30's, he knocks a guy down and kicks him ... looked ridiculous - an octogenarian barely able to kick! LOL
BTW ... the book has a LOT of details about Hoffa and his disappearance (and murder), and also the JFK "hit" by the mob.

I'm pretty much the same: liked him as an actor when he kept his mouth shut, and now can't stand to look at him. Back in the day actors realized they are just entertainment. I wish they would start understanding that again.
