I support the two of them. They are stopping the dismantling of the constitution.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - The Constitution doesn't need to state, "legislations can override the will of the voters." We do not live in a democracy. We live in a democratically elected representative republic. If it isn't a ballot proposal the voters do not make decisions on legislation. The voters' will is irrelevant until the next election.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - On the findlaw website, they provide the following definition of voter suppression.

"Voter suppression is a political strategy — usually at the party-level but sometimes conducted by zealous individuals — designed to prevent a group of would-be voters from registering to vote or voting."

Is that an adequate definition, or would you propose another?

Once we agree on a definition, Pick a state. Pick a piece of legislation that has passed or is being considered. Then tell me what specific part of the law suppresses voter registration or voting and how.

MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi - Your slide just made me think of what the Democrats new voting process can be: modeled after Dancing with the Stars! Each body that can dial a phone gets 3 votes depending on the number they text!!! It sounds fair to me.

MSG Stan Hutchison - Anyone that claims voter suppression is really saying that people of color are not as capable as whites. Racist to the bone.

Voting rights legislation used to be almost automatic and bipartisan!

It doesn't change at the whim of each party. Leave it alone.

CMSgt Marcus Falleaf - Some want it to CMSgt. Look at the minority of Senators now trying to change the rules when they defended the rules just a few short years ago. How sad for our Country.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I have no idea what your analogy leads to. Since 1995 individual states have set interstate speed limits for the US interstate highways in those states.
Over 3/4 of all elections in states are local and state elections and those states determine what is best for them.
States Rights is most certainly not dumb just because you think it is.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - being you live in FL, which lets you keep your .Mil retirement I suppose you would be ok with the fed.gov IRS telling FL you can’t do that, after all States Rights is dumb and all.

These current day Democrats are just off their wheels. I believe they need to listen to some of their speeches from a few years ago to gain some perspective and context. As Bugs would say: What a bunch of buffoons! or as I was corrected: maroons!!! :)

Actually it's the current Republicans who are disenfanchising the voters they need.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - How is asking for valid ID being disenfranchised? You need ID for everything you do in life from open a bank account to buying a house. And a boat load if not all unlawful people in this country make their way to states where they can get drivers licenses. Then spread out to whatever state their family is in.
