We'd certainly weed out many of the more radical candidates with ranked choice voting.

SPC Kevin Ford
SrA John Monette - In general it's going to lead to a whole heck of a lot of people thinking, well he wasn't my first choice but at least it wasn't that turkey that I absolutely hate.

I’m all for ranked choice. I’ve read some interacting ideas in conjunction with it about Congressional representation I.e. multiple reps, elected via ranked choice, representing the same district albeit a much larger district than we might have now. Gets really interesting when you think about it…
Another typical Oregon Left-wing ploy; with a current 55%-45% statewide Left over Right political ideological split among the populace, the Left gets to guarantee a Right-Winger will never see the light of day in an election where it counts, especially in Washington, Multnomah, Clackamas, Marion, Linn and Lane Counties (basically the I-5 corridor of Portland-Salem-Eugene) which holds 63% of Oregon's total population of 4,289,439 souls all while occupying only 11% (11,187 sq miles) of Oregon's 98,381 square miles. The rest of Oregon gets the shaft, but what else is new?
