No surprise there. An individual who has committed a serious crime in the past is more likely to commit another one than the "average" person.
It's part of the reason why I think we have to rethink who we lock up. We should stop filling our prisons with minor drug possession and similar so the prison system is overcrowded. Save the prisons and their capacity for the truly violent criminals.
