Planting your own vegetables is not a bad idea in these times of inflation and shortages. Besides, it can be fun and we also avoid the sprays and chemicals used on a lot of the food sold in the stores.

Vegetables can be grown in very common containers that are water proof, ie plant pots or buckets, and in a convenient area such as your front porch, back porch, deck. Garden soil is the best to use, or decent dirt from your property (not too heavy). Beans, peas, lettuces are easy to grow. Carrots need very loose soil. Peas and Lettuce like cooler weather, at the very least keep them away from direct sun.
