The 2nd Amendment was written right after our founding fathers had just liberated us from British domination, not because they were expecting a deer invasion. Its purpose was to enable us to be able to defend ourselves against all enemies, both domestic and foreign.

Have you noticed how liberals are now attacking the 4th of July? It's like they want to tear down our independence day like the statues of historical figures.

CPL Douglas Chrysler - Demolition is always more fun than construction. But in the end, far less satisfying and rarely worth remembering.

Perhaps we should ask the citizens of other free countries, many with more freedoms than our own, who manage NOT to have mass shootings on a regular basis or lock up a large percentage of their population for minor infractions.

PO1 Jeff Chandler - I certainly would enjoy seeing you have that debate with the officer telling you to drop your weapon. Of course your skin color may give you some leeway in that exchange. I don't know what color your skin is, so I can't be sure.

PO1 Jeff Chandler - Oh, so in the off chance you found yourself in a situation where an officer tells you "drop your weapon" (like maybe you were the "good guy with a gun" taking down the "active shooter" when the police arrived, just like in your wet dreams) And when this government agent tells you to "drop your gun", you immediately forfeit your right to bear arms without due process? The uniformed government agent tells you to give up your rights and you immediately comply? Are you contending that the government official giving you an order to drop and possibly surrender your firearm is a "lawful order"? How is it "lawful" when you are asked to give up your gun without due process?

So I ask you... how much of a "right" do you actually have in that case?

You can call me all the names you want just because you don't have the ability to engage in debate, but it doesn't change anything.

PV2 Larry Sellnow - The point is is a government official (cop) can order you to surrender your firearm without due process, then the "right" to bear arms is not as much of a "right" as people claim it to be.

PO1 Jeff Chandler - As I thought. You just want to call names rather than engage in debate because you’re incapable of debating your ridiculous position. Run away, little girl.
