The US coal stock BTU is up 212% in the last year. It is now at $31 a share and is predicted to go to $37.
The European Union is fortunate they didn't destroy their coal-fired power plants and they're putting them back to use at the same time the Biden administration wants to bribe Indonesia to get away from Coal even though China and India are using coal at least through 2050 and late as 2060.
President Biden does everything backwards. The $20 billion dollars he promises to Indonesia could be used to fix up our US military that's falling apart.
The Chinese Navy is now bigger than ours at least the number of total ships and the US Navy is thinking of mothballing 30 ships because they can't afford to keep them maintained but we can afford to defer student loans and reward bad behavior for those people who are making money and who could pay off those loans.
This Biden administration is in the Twilight Zone in almost every single category.
We could be self-sufficient in fossil fuel production of oil and gas and even nuclear if the regulations would go away and if they would allow pipelines and refineries to be built. The permits may be open, but those permits that are on the desk of the EPA and the department of the interior and other departments just sit there on purpose and are not approved. Instead, we're going to reward despotic president Maduro of Venezuela who has oil that's even dirtier than Canada's and Chevron will eventually send it by supertanker which will cause even more carbon dioxide!
I could put 10 different things that go against common sense that this Administration is doing. It's costing Americans jobs, it's costing the military readiness, it's increasing the deficit ( and the city, state, local and US government is missing out on $$$ billions of royalties) and rewarding bad behavior of people within the USA and emboldening our enemies abroad while we fight from within and give Equity to those that don't deserve it and screw over people who just want to make America great again! I'm not talking about republicans, I'm talking about those in the oil and gas industry, those in the military and those businesses who want to be able to make profits to invest into the future instead of going into the coffers of the US Treasury just to bribe other countries to change to inefficient and unreliable renewable energy.
Coal is also used in making steel. Environmental Nazi Democrats and the Green New Deal Fanatics don't remember this. You can't get rid of oil and you can't get rid of coal!

Here come the clean coal folks again! Really wish the Republicans would come up with a platform and get the concept of this 2015 BS out of it. Coal is bad for the environment no matter how many countries still use it!

LTC Trent Klug Strange that Scandinavian countries that get a lot colder and less sunshine than Texas can rely in part on wind and solar. Granted today's US technology won't get us there but you must develop it. I prefer to look to the future rather than obsess over the past.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen Scandinavia has a population of about 20 million. According to what I've read, about 20% of their energy needs are brought by wind and solar. The rest is hydroelectric, biomass, and fossil fuel.

President Biden had no problem with the natural gas pipeline from Russia that has 30% more methane than our clean natural gas. We have so much natural gas in the Permian Basin they have to burn it off because they can't store it because they were not allowed to build pipelines to export it. Again another President Biden the Science of Stupid idea of his and he's now putting caps on methane in the Permian Basin of Texas which will even hurt oil production more. President Biden is a big hypocrite especially when he wants to buy oil from Venezuela which is one of the world's worst polluters.

I think all you folks who like coal should move into these small towns and experience the destruction this does to the environment and those that mine the coal. Maybe some of you might like a career change and become a coal mineral

Yes, those who get coal mine lung. You could be working in a Refinery and die of hydrogen sulfide. My wife worked on oil tanks up here in Canada and people would drop dead trying to help someone else who passed out because hydrogen sulfide displaces oxygen and kills them. You could also say the same thing for those who dig up Rare Earth minerals child labor worldwide and they die of slow poisoning. Low-level toxicity is everywhere but electric cars are not perfect either. Instead we rely on wind and solar and those are not reliable especially wind.
We are relying on child labor and exploitation for those wanting to dig up Cobalt. This is from Amnesty International and this is over 6 years old so you figure with the push for electric cars by all the automakers. Look at the last Dodge Challenger is coming out in 2023 and they're going to retire the Hemi V8 engine. They're going to come out with new electric muscle cars but they're not going to do very well up here in canada. Where I live, it's often below freezing between November and March. Electric cars don't last very long in the cold especially if you have to heat the passenger compartment and heat the batteries so they don't lose their efficiency in cold weather. I have a 7-year-old Dodge Challenger with 55,000 miles on it. I have replaced the battery three times. Had this been an electric Tesla from 2015, it would require a new battery by now and that would be over 20 grand. My vehicle gets up to 30 miles per gallon on the highway. It's a V6 with 305 horsepower. It's not as fast as a Tesla performance electric model but since we have snow 6 months out of the year, who needs performance? Watch the used car lots have all kinds of dead electric cars after the 7-year warranty is up.
I can handle spending a couple hundred bucks every 3 years buying a new battery then buying an electric car that's 20 to $30,000 more than the average car and then have to plug down another 20 to 25 Grand after 7 years? As soon as you pay off the vehicle, you have to spend almost the equivalent of the vehicle to get a replacement battery! That's insane! Also, you have to dispose of the old battery and that's toxic waste as it is!
Third world countries can use propane, diesel or gasoline and it isn't that expensive for them while they having to plug down lots of money for green energy made in China will bankrupt them and President Biden wanting to give 20 billion to Indonesia is just sheer corruption. He is dooming them to having expensive energy that is unreliable. That's why I'm letting you know that stupid that we should have carbon taxes to pay other countries reparations which is a total tax and spend scam all for the environmental Nazis that don't know their ass from the hole in the ground.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen do you know I never do this. My car can be 40 below zero and I've had no mechanical issues but I use full synthetic oil. We have engine block heaters up here too. I just use my remote start and let the car warm up before I go to work. Rubber Gavin Newsom was advising people not to plug in their cars to charge at the same time.

We sell alot of those here in Alberta as well. Not sure if it is for camping or for backup power. In Honduras, the power is unreliable and most businesses are up and running withing 5 minutes of a power outage with their own backup power generators.
