A rare Super Blue Moon will occur on Aug 30, 2023. The term "once in a blue moon" is an idiom used to describe a rare but nonetheless recurring event. According to NASA, blue moons reoccur every two and a half years or so. However, a blue “supermoon” happens far less frequently. The last blue supermoon was in December 2009, and the next one won't be until August 2032.
