"If [the charge] does drop down to a grand theft, there are chances they may be released on bail, but we will be working with prosecutors very carefully to appropriately charge these individuals in each one of these cases to make sure that they are held to the greatest extent possible that we're allowed to do so by the law,'' Pitcher said.
Whaaa? You mean holding people accountable for their actions and keeping them in jail if they broke the law will lower crime and have an impact on future behavior?
Things that make you go, 'hmmm..'

Lt Col Charlie Brown - I'm less than hopeful. Wait until the class action lawsuits start up and the mob looters (I'm sorry large gatherings of the opportunity starved, Tip of the hat to Chicago's mayor) start getting their five and six figure payouts for cops not wearing masks, misgendering and generally being "meanies."
It's gang activity.
It's carried out for the benefit of the gang.

Pass out truckloads of 5-year sentences without the possibility of parole and this nonsense will come to a screeching halt. Oh wait... It's a democrat led state. Never mind...

Maj John Bell Me too and I'm not holding my breath. Wish someone had a backbone in California, rounded up these criminals, opened Alcatraz and stuffed those animals into a place they belong.

SFC John D. Gotta love the launching of a task force rhetoric. How bout just enforcing the laws and using the bail system like before. It wasn't perfect but kept crime down much better than the current way.

Until you get rid of soft on crime District Attorneys like Gascon, get rid of the soft on crime laws that reduce offenses to levels that encourage crime, get rid of release immediately laws where criminals walk straight out of police stations, get rid of rules/laws that allow for release of criminals from prison with little or no time served, increase police staffing levels, increase trust in police instead of criminals, then none of this will have any effect. It is window dressing only.

Too little, too late. California and the various city DA's brought this crap on themselves.

I don't see any way out for them. The people got exactly what they voted for. They believed a rational that defied all logic, just like the Inflation Reduction Act will reduce Inflation. Whoever believed that is just plain stupid, and that's a word I don't like to use.

SFC (Join to see) you're correct, and "stupid," is evidenced by the results of their votes. That's especially accurate in that any fool should realize that any candidate backed by Soros is dangerous. Then again, most stupidity is rooted in voters being uninformed and because
they're too lazy to BECOME informed.
they're too lazy to BECOME informed.
