An outstanding feat in Aviation History to break the sound barrier at supersonic speed. Capt. Yeager was a brilliant aviator.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.
He was one of the best. Along with guys like Bud Anderson, with whom he often flew in the 357th FG, and Robin Olds, who was the 479th FG's leading ace and became a Vietnam USAF wing commander and scored four kills.

CPT Gurinder (Gene) Rana
MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D., these are what I classify as Top Guns. Together, these three were the best combat aviators. Similar aviators, in recent times, are rare resources in the USAF.

There are men, and there are giants among men. Yeager was a giant. Flying the X-1 with broken ribs was just a layer in the cake of his career.
