When they allow public schools to allow a parents voice in their childs education (you know the ones paying the taxes for said schools) then I would say no but treating parents like domestic terrorists because they stand up for their kids then yes...I would pull mine out for private or home school and would expect a returnon my investment in taxes since they aren't providing for a quality education for my child.

My school isn't what you would call in a rich area but we still rank up there both in the state of Tennessee and nationally. The teachers make the difference. It isn't all just the money.

Schools are dependent on local tax base. Rich neighborhoods have high performing public schools. Many poor performers are in rougher neighborhoods with lower property tax to pay for expenses.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - LTC Eugene Chu - Problem is standards are standards...money has zero/zilch to do with it. My wife teaches in a very very rural
farm community public school in MS...very little to no tax base but guess what...they are a nationally accredited A+ public school..with ancient facilities and equipment they are still meeting/exceeding the national standard. When you lower standards to make yourself look good and graduate folks that can't meet the standard till you lower the bar then it is on you. Also when you teach curriculum not in accordance with national standards it is on you...when you don't listen to the parents who support the school instead using it for a food/babysitting service and then arresting them or harassing them by calling them domestic terrorists because they disagree with you, then it is on you. I have seen very rich neighborhoods that perform poorly...just because you have money doesn't make you a good school with a quality education.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth - We also live in a small town where the education level is excellent and graduates are prepared for adult life either college or careers My wife is also a retired teacher from the Public Schools in our small town of 8.500 people. Overall it seems with public schools in Massachusetts they tend to do well above those in many other states.
