Wholesale Inflation Surges at Double Expected Rate

If you talk to foks here on RP that are hard left like LtCol Broom and Jack Christensen they are better off now than they were before...well they are but what they fail to realize and I have tried to explain to them is that they are doing ok cause they have a steady retirement, and Broom is working and Jack is drawing SS with his retirement...of course they are doing ok...but everyday blue collar workers that three years ago had a good paying job were able to make ends meet, never get rich, but have a nice life with a few extras are now having to work two jobs to keep the same standard and put fuel in their car to go to work, pay almost twice for groceries, and keep a roof over their families head. Yes their employers have given them raises put it is behind the Cost of living. Those are the facts of everyday Americans that don't have the luxury of a mil retirement. I have numerous friends and family in this situation and truly it is sad that this is where we are in America. It is a slap in their face for Biden to stand up and say the economy is good when it is going to hell in a hand cart!

Lt Col Charlie Brown Inflation is killing a lot of families the last three years. It's out of control.

I clearly remember during the seventies, 1975, into 1980s traveling/moving to find work. When our second child was born it was time to put an anchor down and buy a house. These were extremely hard times, jobs were scarce and inflation rampant. Our application for our mortgage was locked in at 9% and a delay from my payroll department caused us to lose the lock in at 9% and now we were at 11%. Those housing prices might sound ridiculously low now but at the time they were astronomical. Wages were a pittance and survival required you to learn how to fix your own problems. There were jobs but you needed to search. The reality of today for the young it is much worse. Jobs that should be paying a higher wage are suppressed by illegal immigration. Company owners ( roofing ) dismissing their American employees not for purpose but to replace with much cheaper labor. I don’t think it’s a coincidence landscaping company employees are foreign born.
I see inflation as an increase in the number of dollars that are in circulation. Since Covid and the government spending on wars and freebies is out of control, it will take a long time to bring inflation down. We owe it to our Country and good citizens a right to liberty, safety + pursuit of happiness and a fair paying job.
