I want to add a thought here. The banners always put the semiautomatic designation and select fire switch in their rhetoric. A manual safety is a select fire switch, A revolver is a semiautomatic gun, in the strictest technical sense of the functioning of the gun in question. The Banner's are hoping you don't catch on to implications of their verbiage. Their goal is ban any gun that can be fired more than once after a reload, for now. If they can find a way to accomplish this task, they will then go after the rest of the guns.

There you go again, arguing firearms with people who have no knowledge of them. A waste of time. BTW, the 2nd Amendment is not an acknowledgement of our right to personal safety (best handled by effective law enforcement, situational awareness, and other common sense practices) nor hunting nor sport shooting. It is an acknowledgement of the sovereignty of citizens and their right to depose tyrants.

CPT Jack Durish hits the nail on the head. This push isn't actually about your personal safety. It's about the government being able to totally control your life...with impunity. Several hundred million guns in the hands of private citizens prevent that from happening.
