Does the Army have something against the Rangers? First they take away the black beret, worn only by Rangers and Armored Cav, then they put SFAB's into the brown beret, which only Rangers then wear. What is going on?

Well I'll be damned Brother Dale. After all the other crap they authorized, neck & hand tattoos for example, they finally authorized Boonie Hats to be worn. That's the modern military for you. They just now realized how much protection they provide, which I thought was the reason they were first intended.

And here is the CSM to the rescue of “uniformity” clause …” The Army allows commanders to decide whether their soldiers can wear boonie hats in lieu of patrol caps or combat helmets in the field, and on work details and other environments when wearing patrol caps is deemed impractical, an Army pamphlet says.“.
