Lt Col Charlie Brown In today's society so many things can operate off of battery from phones to storage for energy to provide a home with electricity off the grid.

The bottom line is batteries are not only highly combustible but are in the category of hazardous waste already even before any added coating. Keep in mind even without burning a leaking battery can cause injury and chemical burns by any contact with Your body, skin or even devices they are used and contained within. . There still is no good way to dispose of these batteries other than being brought to hazardous waste centers.

Well, I for one, am shocked that flames would release toxins into the air. In other news water is wet.
