Those hearings were on CSPAN. Wray tried to downplay both memos, especially the CI one. Garland tried his best to downplay the parents one.

Maj John Bell looks like a pretty small sect.
To claim that means the FBI is targeting Catholics would be like saying targeting AQ means targeting the Muslim world.

How many parishes and parishioners does it take to qualify to be eligible for the protections of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution? Are those parishioners Catholics? Is the discriminator used to make them the target of surveillance and infiltration their Catholicism?

And the US government does target Muslims, far more than just Al-Qaeda, for surveillance and infiltration. The difference is that the targeting happens AFTER the leaders of the Muslim communities eventually targeted allegedly call for violence against the US and our allies or engage in fund-raising for terrorist organizations.

Maj John Bell - I think you can read your own source as well as I can, where the concern was small groups responsible for white nationalist, anti-Semitic and racist writings, vandalism, threatening communications, weapons violations.

SGM Jeff Mccloud - Can you point to any acts of violence against people or property by Catholic Racially Motivated Violent Extremists (RMVE) in the United States. Can you point to any Catholic parish that has endorsed, fostered, encouraged, enabled, aided, abetted or even passively tolerated any RMVE advocacy or action? The Catholic parishes in question were targeted because the Biden administration DOJ imagined correlation and causation between preferring the Latin Mass and speaking out against liberal/leftist/progressive policies at the federal, state and local level. Dissent against liberal/progressive social trends is not a crime.

If anything, RMVEs tend to be anti-Catholic as well as anti-Semitic. Religiously oriented RMVEs are usually splinter congregation where political advocacy and direct action have replaced the teachings of Christ.

"Radical" Traditional Catholic values (RTC) are not "radical." They were the norm until "liberation theologists" started to gain influence in the Catholic church in the 1970's - 1980's. Catholic Liberation theologists didn't go away, they just went quiet when the revolutionary movements gained victory in Latin American revolutions only to be more oppressive, only to create more poverty and misery, only to depose one set of oligarchs with a new set of oligarchs. But the DOJ wasn't targeting the liberation theologists under the Biden administration. They were after the traditionalists.

The so-called "RMVE" targets of the Catholic church are merely conservative, traditional value Catholics who are unhappy with the recent election to the papacy of libera/progressive popes. Traditional Catholics perceive deterioration of society because of the lessening adherence to centuries old traditional views on morality. It is in increasingly evident that there is no traditional social norm that is safe from liberal/progressive democrats.
