If you didn't see this coming, You need to work on situational awareness. I've been Sober for 7.5 years and have established that lifestyle with local LE and any bar around here that has a Karaoke night, it's the only reason I go to a bar. If DOJ is successful in reinstating Mr. Hemani's violations, that were dismissed by the 5th circuit last year, it's going to mean bad news for anyone that uses cannabis for any reason. Unless and until Marijuana is removed from the Fed Drug Schedule. It may have been moved down the list last year, but it's still considered a controlled substance, unlike alcohol, which is not on the schedule even though it would fall under the definitions encompassed in the schedule. At this point in time, if you are apprehended with Marijuana, it is a federal crime. If SCOTUS let's the dismissal stand, it will set new precedent. Then the whole topic will be up in the air and become something Congress will have to deal with.

SGT (Join to see) unfortunately for medical maryjane users, an illicit drug is an illicit drug. When I approached my primary care provider with the desire to try it for my pain, she was not encouraging. She is more than just a medical provider on paper. Medical maryjane is not worth the complications that are coming once a person is a documented legal user. We can see it happening now.

A box of Chicken of the Sea tuna and a lost wallet recently led to felony charges against a Spokane man suspected of robbing a medical marijuana patient at gunpoint.
Jesse Ryder Bender, 29, is in jail on $35,000 bond after appearing in Superior Court on two counts of unlawful imprisonment and two counts of first-degree robbery. He was arrested Feb. 21 after being released from jail Jan. 3 because prosecutors hadn't yet filed charges.
Bender was first arrested Dc. 30 while working at the High Nooner in downtown Spokane.
Detectives identified Bender as a suspect through a wallet left at the scene of the Dec. 28 robbery , in the 8000 block of E. South Riverway Ave. in Spokane Valley. Fingerprints on a box of Chicken of Sea also were identified as belonging to Bender, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Police say Bender asked a woman at the home if she'd ordered Chicken of the Sea when she answered the door, then forced his way into the home and gunpoint and tied the woman up. Her son had a medical marijuana card and maintained a small grow operation at the home.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard I am not against medical marijuana but I think it should be dispensed through a pharmacy; not grown at the home of the patient. As this story goes, the lady's son sold some of his crop to this fellow and welched on the deal. So the perp was going to get what he paid for or his money returned.

CPL Douglas Chrysler oh I get where you are coming from. It is just that history shows, when something (anything) is domesticated, some genius is going to conjure up a crime angle, such as is in this article.

I know my opinion is not popular but I have my reasons for it. I live in one of those states that legalized marijuana and I truly wish those responsible had been incarcerated and remain so even today.
