No mention of the Democratic Party's involvement in racial unrest anywhere in the article. In 1963, the Governor was a Democrat. Lt Gov was a Democrat. Mayor of Jackson was a Democrat. KKK was founded by a Democrat, whose members were mainly Democrats. This is want Mayor Thompson did, "Thompson was a controversial figure during the Civil Rights era, going so far as to purchase a International Harvester Loadstar 1600, outfitted in paramilitary gear in order to assault Civil Rights protestors assembling in Jackson, in the effort to obtain the vote for African Americans. The device was colloquially known as "Thompson's Tank"." Good thing the Republicans pushed the 1964 Civil Rights Act through Congress with heavy Democratic opposition.

That's what you got from this? Give it a rest. Racism is a cultural/social issue, and the museum focuses on the people. Your statement is a fantastic example of reasons why this museum is needed.
