Allowing a person to lie to law enforcement under oath and then putting pressure on them due to that lie is a long used law enforcement tactic. At the end of the day, the only person that decided to lie under oath is Flynn.
"Perjury traps", such as they are, are super easy to avoid. You've got to be shown to knowningly lie under oath, just don't do it.

So his lawyers are arguing the documents, which amount to a discussion on how the FBI was to handle Flynn’s interrogations and conclude by stating they shouldn’t play games for fear of repercussions from the White House, are proof that he was tricked into lying to the FBI?
Really?
I must have missed something, but I believe a General knows better.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel, I’m wondering if we’ve been having a Twilight Zone moment the past 4 years. Reality has been suspended.

SFC Herve Abrams - In My Day We'd have called Him a Traitor but Today Flynn was just being a Good "Capitalist".

SPC Kevin Ford
A1C Michael Allen - He was the one who decided to knowingly lie under oath. No one forced him to do that. If there was something that he felt a truthful answer would get him into legal hot water, the proper and legal response is found in the 5th amendment.

If the defense is basing an entrapment case on those documents, they are going to lose. Merely giving someone an opportunity to commit and offense (e.g., to lie to federal investigators) is not entrapment. Nor does Flynn have to be informed of his rights if he is not undergoing a custodial interrogation (he wasn't).
Right now all I'm seeing is smoke and mirrors, and nothing close to entrapment.

It isn't a court of law where they are trying to make their case, but rather in the court of public opinion where there are no rules or standards.

Capt Gregory Prickett
MSgt Steve Sweeney - the problem remains that he pled out in a court of law, and his attorney is trying to get the charges dropped.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Understood. They are still going to spin it for as much traction as they can get. The fact that Flynn was operating as a foreign agent while heading the NSC appears to be irrelevant to people who are worried about email habits.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - they aren't really worried about email habits, or Ivanka would be catching hell for her email practices.
