I believe he is a great politician, maybe one of the best in American history. As far as his performance as president, I'll keep that opinion to myself.

LTC Trent Klug My opinion is the exact opposite. Obama did what he could with an obstructionist congress whose goal was too make him fail. That meant a democratically elected elected and re elected president ( with a majority in both cases) was held hostage by a bunch of conservative ideologues, that harmed the country for their own narrow interests.

LTC Bink Romanick - I disagree with your analysis. I believe the battle between the president and the Congress meant that we the American voters have not come to an overwhelming consensus on what direction we want the country to take. I am not a fan of the Obama administration. But I will not paint it as the disaster many want to paint it as. I think it could have been much worse.
Where I think President Obama failed... he was unable to bridge gaps and garner even minimal partisan support, and I am glad of that. I've read President Obama's books. I have a profoundly different view on the place of government in our lives and our communities. I have a profoundly different view of America's place in the world.
I suspect that there were many voters who voted against him primarily because of his race. I suspect that there were more who voted for him primarily because of his race.

That depends on your political views. However, while I am still on active duty I will keep my personal opinions of the Commander and Chief safety guarded. Ask my opinion in 6 months, you will get a totally right winged response.

SSG Ben Woart - You are stating your opinion as to why it occurred. I'm not saying I agree or disagree, only that it's your opinion. I'm stating that others hold a different opinion and that neither are able to be proven.

SSG Ben Woart - I think the problem is low information and undereducated voters in general - both sides of the aisle! Just as MAJ Burch attacked a very small segment of DNC supporters, you have attacked a very small segment of the GOP supporters. The reality is that BOTH parties are the primary problem in this nation and until we, the American people, start listening to our founders and understand the perils of a two party system (which we see every day) nothing will change!

SSG Ben Woart - SSG Ben Woart that is an excellent post. I would like to add that one of the reasons "White" America is diminishing in population is because of so many abortions being performed. Secondly, when so much interracial offspring being produced. They are automatically classified as "Black" on their birth certificates. The later is the primary reason for the anticipated increase in the African American population.

SGT Jones: this is true. Also the "white" population has been over-reported for the last 10-20 years. It is odd how the govt classifies people. As you said, if you are bi-racial, you get classified as "black", however many many "Hispanics" self-identify as "white". One notable example in recent memory is "George Zimmerman". The name sounds white, the media first reported that he was white, but when you actually see him, he looks Hispanic.
The sad truth is, neither political party has the best interest of the American people at heart, all they want to do is continue to divide us and increase their own power. What I do find funny is the hypocrisy. When Bill Clinton was screwing around in the whitehouse, it was none of our business and a GOP witchhunt. But yet the left slammed Herman Cain over his sex scandal and there was nothing "racist" or "witchhunty" about it. And any criticism of Obama is immediately labeled "racism", even though the left spent 8 years insulting and bashing Bush. Remember all those billboards and internet memes comparing Bush to a chimp?

If you simply look at the national it was around $10 trillion when Obama took office.it was around $6 trillion when Bush took office. Right now it is about $19 trillion. Obama has taken no leadership etc over this issue. Then we can look at the VA debacle, again no improvement and no leadership. Now when Clinton lost the House and Senate got some great things done by working with congress . Obama has not reached out to Congress at all instead using his pen and phone. It speaks to his inexperience and failure to lead. Oh , just a note, Obama stated increasing the debt limit was immoral and burdening our children. Now if it was immoral then why not now?

Almost everything that Obama criticized "the previous administration" for he has done himself many times over.

LTC David Brown although I respectfully disagree with your assessment I am appalled that someone was spineless enough to give an "Anonymous" Down vote. I think that is a chicken**** thing to do. If a person can't stand up for their convictions although others may disagree, they don't have the intestinal fortitude to face combat.

Sgt Jay Jones - I am not seeking approval or up votes. Generally this seems a forum where we can discuss differences in an adult fashion. If people are childish enough to block or down vote that is their problem.
