SGT Christopher Stanley the Black Lives Matter came out of frustration with African American men and women being killed by Law Enforcement Officers. Originally the movement focused on trying to educate people that the lives of Black people in this country mattered just as much as any other race or person. There was a perception that when African Americans we drawn into the judicial system or approached by Law Enforcement Officers that our lives were valued less by those in authority. This has been proven time and time again by various events throughout history and still remains a perception today. The Black Lives Matter movement like any movement can go in an direction. I personally do not like the direction that the movement has turned too. I do not support killing Law Enforcement Officers or anyone else for that matter. Yes, I agree with you that Caucasians are also victims of poor Law Enforcement actions.
I also deplore the "Black on Black" crime that seems to permeate our inner cities. These type of killings are being perpetrated by individuals who have lost hope in American, the System and their ability to rise above the station they now hold in life.
I would not expect you to apologize for being white. That would be absurd by normal standards. The root issue is that there is systemic racism in this country. A lot of individuals have it and do not even realize it. I believe there are two types of racism that exist in the Caucasian community. Systemic and Overt. I describe Systemic racism as the racism that exists when a person sees three or four young Black, Latino, Middle Eastern or Asian men and automatically assume they are looking for trouble or pose a threat to you or your immediate surroundings. Another example that I can give is when states have "Open" carry laws for firearms. When Caucasians are approached by Law Enforcement Officers, those individuals interacting with the officers is questions and usually states their right to carry their weapon in the open. Usually after a discussion on the Constitutionally of the individual rights the person is allowed to proceed with no problem. When a minority chooses to exercise the same Constitutionally right the Law Enforcement Officer usually approach with guns drawn, the minority is usually forced to get on the ground and searched.
This type of racism is what I refer to as "White Privilege" where a Caucasian person is treated differently and with respect, whereas the minority is assumed to be a criminal until proven otherwise. This type of racism is usually a result of a preconditioned mind and not the heart of the individual. This type of racism is also the one that causes an employer to hire the "Caucasian" over the minority. There are many times when minorities apply for jobs that it seems as though they always come in "second". This is very frustrating and leads to hopelessness for many minorities.
The other type of racism I mentioned was the "overt" racism. This is the type of racism that usually occurs when confrontations occur and usually result in name calling, racial slurs, and physical confrontations.
Nobody expects your to "pay" for the crimes of your ancestors. Just don't continue the same crimes. We have to break the mold and stop allowing preconceived ideas and perceptions to rule us.
We all have a choice in how we proceed from this day forward. Do we stop supporting a systemic system or do we start to look at each individual person on their on merit.
I lived through the civil rights movement. A lot of the younger generation did not. However, they are getting an education into what us older African Americans have been warning them about for years.
It is up to all of us to change the system and lay aside our own individual biases and rise about the "way we were raised" and truly and honestly accept people for who they are.

Sgt Kelli Mays - If you recall in my post, I did acknowledge that Caucasians are also victims of bad Law Enforcement Officers also.
It boils down Law Enforcement Officers doing an exceptionally difficult job. There is a percentage of these Officers who in my humble opinion suffer from "Napoleonic Syndrome".
What I mean by that is they have power and if a citizen doesn't cower down to their power they are offended and use the power in a destructive way.
We are all human. Law Enforcement Officers are the same way. If you can imagine someone coming into your home and challenging you, or possible cursing you, or possibly attacking you. Your response would be that one they better respect your home and you will defend yourself and your family.
What about your children when they are disobedient or disrespect you. You will make sure that they know who is in charge.
Many Law Enforcement Officers view they beat as there home. Yes, they are there to protect and to serve. How dare someone come into their "Home" causing trouble, or someone who doesn't belong in my home, or someone who doesn't respect my authority.
This is what happens when there is a conflict. Some citizens feel the police are disrespecting them and the police feel the citizen is disrespecting them.
I know this because my father was a Law Enforcement Officer for the Kansas City Police Department for 25 years. I grew up with stories of various police actions and conduct. Some of it was appalling and some of it was sheer courage.
I hope this clarifies my understanding and position on this issue to you.
If you want to see what some refer to as "White Privilege" please watch the attached video. This is an example.

Sgt Kelli Mays - If I'm taking what you said out of contex, correct me ASAP. I don't think anyone thinks for one second that SOME cops are really thugs with badges and a weapon. Those rotten apples sour the taste for the whole bushel for many. What happened to your son is a direct reason why there should be more accountability in regards to police, and he wasn't the first, and unfortunately he won't be the last. As far as white folks rising up and doing anything, maybe they do and do it in a different way that seems less offensive? My example would be social media, television, legislators, and in another rare case, those who are in groups that are in direct conflict with the federal government. BLM is a product of it's own "success". Like in another post, it started with a very good intent, and that intent changed when it became "trendy" to be associated with BLM. Note when there are riots over actions taken my police, the rioters ARE NOT from the area. In Ferguson, there were buses chartered to bring in people form other parts of the nation. These a**harts then proceeded to tear up the place, and then went home. If you looked at the aftermath, you saw the actual folks who live in the area cleaning it up. I can base that statement off personal experience. In DC as a late teen, I used to see a lot of drug dealers. No problem, BUT when the nighttime came, they'd leave and go back to MD or VA, leaving the sorry saps there to do their dirty work in the crappy and dirty area. BLM will fail over time, and when looked at objectively, it will be shown to have had a good intent, but that intent became perverted by the very people it was designed to support. Funny thing with that...that's the same thing with religion.

MSG Steve Howell - Please understand I am in no way defending Black Lives Matter or the New Black Panther Party. I am not saying that racism just comes from Caucasians. I'm not saying Black on Black crime does not exist, and that it is not decimating the inner cities.
All I was trying to point out is some of the causes of hatred and distrust that exist in some communities.
I in no way support or encourage or delight in the killing of any Law Enforcement Officer. I believe this is an abomination before God Almighty.
I'm not saying that Police Officers are altruistic either. You have to remember in most cases, fundamentally, the Law Enforcement Officer and the criminal come from the same neighborhoods. Some people make the right choice and some make the wrong choice.
Yes, I am fully aware that thousands of Caucasian, Latino, Asian and Muslims are also killed by Law Enforcement Officers. I abhor these deaths much as I do when an African American is killed or shot by a Law Enforcement Officer.
This is the United States of America. We have laws that are designed to protect all lives. These laws in most cases are good and achieve their designed purpose. However, like anything designed by man, there are times when their designed purpose is not met. That is life.
I support police. I support criminals going to jail. I support the Constitution of the United States. Please don't get it twisted. I am not an advocate of Black Lives Matter. I was merely trying to point out how some of these perceptions develop and challenge all of us.

COL Ted Mc
Sgt Jay Jones - Sergeant; I totally agree with you. NO ONE is expected to "pay for" the actions of people who were dead long before they were born UNLESS they repeat them.

Did you ever feel that you had fallen down Alice's rabbit hole and were now living in Wonderland? I do. I wonder every day what the hell's going on here...

SGT (Join to see) - Sergeant; I've been around a long time so I suppose that I've seen a more egregious misinterpretation of reality before.
But I can't remember when.
