California, the Pacific Northwest, and New England are all donor states, paying more to the Federal government than they receive. We don't like being threatened.
Will New York lose their funding? Doubt it, as he will only end up hurting his own family.

San Diego County has more military bases in anywhere in the United States. So what if all of a sudden the federal government closed Camp Pendleton, Coronado and a bunch of other bases and move them elsewhere? What if they moved from Fort Irwin and the Marine Corps Logistics base in (Yermo) Barstow to a different rail hub? What if they closed Fort Hunter- Liggett? What if they moved USMC 29 Palms to Arizona? What if the USAF moved McClellan, Vandenberg, Edwards and L.A. Air Force to another location?
The US government could kill so many jobs in California if they moved. What if they closed the NASA Ames Research Center(formerly known as Moffett Field) and moved it somewhere else?
What if they closed the Long Beach Naval Weapons Station put all the ammunition somewhere else? The US government could really make California's Governor Moonbeam/Brown suffer and eat his words.
Governor Moonbeam cares more about 10 round high capactity magazines bans and climate change? Will how about what if the US government pulled all its forces out and thereby 500,000 jobs also leave then California would be taking more than it's giving because it's unemployment rate would be astronomical.
This would scare any other places/cities/states that have sheltered them knowing big government will cut you off!

Hawaii isn't conservative. It would be tactically suicidal to dump the entire liberal Pacific. Guam is a no go too. The locals, although very misguided, do not want to allow any more military than they have to.

Depends on how it comes about. I think tourism, especially because of the military history there (I was 11 and the Arizona made me cry, I was depressed for weeks), would sustain Hawaii. Push comes to shove, government needs Hawaii more than Hawaii needs it. If they withdraw, I guarantee they will lose Hawaii. It's a deadly game of chicken, really.

SSG Jessica Bautista - a retired Colonel friend who lives in Hawaii says that Hawaii is the Dustbin dumpster displaced and unwanted people since bleeding heart liberal has a bum law so other states gladly put bombs on one way tickets to Hawaii to make it their problem. You could pretty much Homestead anywhere you like in Hawaii. It is a bum Utopia

MAJ (Join to see) - Look. It costs time, money and manpower to detain suspected undocumented immigrants. If the state jumps in on that, it's out of their pocket. If the local police takes on the role of local immigration agents, it will hinder their ability to effectively serve their communities. So no, it won't happen.

SSG Jessica Bautista - Which is why Trump is threatening to take away their federal funding if they don't enforce the laws. Exactly the same reason Obama threatened to take away funds for underprivledged schools if they didn't implement his transgender policies. (funny thing is Trump has laws to back him up, Obama had no legislative support for his actions.) No president should be able to coerce behavior without congressional actions.
