Today, I met a Canadian Citizen at a barbershop who told me served in Vietnam in 1968. He was drafted just like everyone else as a resident (legal green card holding) alien. He served one year in Vietnam unlike some American who went to Canada. He said he became Conservative once Jimmy Carter pardoned the draft Dodgers. Some who went did not come back alive.

LTC (Join to see) I really appreciate you educating me. I had no idea (though I should have figured) that the U.S. Drafted Resident Aliens. Just kinda figured that they would just go back to their home nation if the U.S. was in a war that they didn't believe in. It is amazing that they served when natural born citizens ran.
