It isn't surprising that 75 communist soldiers who had seized key outposts in the city of Dalat managed to slip past 2,500 South Vietnamese militiamen and soldiers in 1970 SP5 Mark Kuzinski. Our intel surveillance capabilities have improved dramatically but ISIS and Taliban forces manage to elude us, primarily because our assets are generally focused on more "high value targets."

Today's focus is intel from HVT. In Dalat and surrounding R & R are....grin..... the focus was on HBC ( high body count )

My last 4 months was spent at a little village of Bao Loc, midway between Saigon and Dalat. 3rd Batt 173rd was there ( Camp Rock ) We took a day or R & R and 4 of us drove up to Dalat. We checked with the South Vietnamese and told them we were taking a little vacation ( R & R ) and they cautioned us that the NVA considered Dalat as THEIR R & R city. Kinda hard to enjoy yourself with a " pucker factor" of zilch.
