It is cold here too and chilly wind, but not as cold as Siachen.
All I see in the distance from the Pass is vast nothing, except for a ruin where a British Indian was kept hostage, apparently, and; some shades of bunkers, which the BSF claim are PLA sites. This is Xinjiang Autonomous Prefecture in China. This Pass is a disputed land that China claims but India holds, because it is a border crossing into India's Crown. It's all highlands here with peaks over 20,000 ft asl. I am at 18,002 ft asl right now; its cold and windy; snow clad peaks to valleys all round.

Its not only a weather forecast or report Cowboy, it is a position observation report from a pass that lies smack between India and China.
The separation of India and China is a pile of bones. Chinese and Indian sentries are face-to-face with each other and each have fortified positions on either side of the Pass. Karakoram Pass was a regular route of trade between the princely state of Kashmir and Ashgar, which is now a major thoroughfare in the Xinjiang Province of China smack on the Karakoram Highway, which runs north of the Siachen Glacier into Gilgit-Baltistan, which was a part of the princely state of Kashmir, but is now in Pakistan and, that is claimed by India.
