MY SAY: Austin says he want the victims of 9/11 to "see the military commissions take place." Well, all he needs to do in order to speed them up is get rid of the 2009 Military Commissions Act, instituted during the Obama administration. This act gives unlawful combatant Islamists who want to kill us accused of war crimes and held at the US military detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, virtually the same rights your or I would enjoy in a civilian federal court of law. Furthermore, the accusation that the confessions of the admitted terrorists should be thrown out on grounds they were tortured is a false argument. Waterboarding and other EIT were legal and approved at the time they were performed on a handful of detainees in order to obtain valuable information that saved many lives. For 22 years appeasing Islamist apologists has led us down this road to nowhere.
