My darling wife to early Social Security at age 62 CW5 Jack Cardwell By law her earning are capped each year. If she exceeds that amount the government takes back social security payments to cover the delta. At age 65 you can draw social security and work with no artificial limits.
Personally I plan on holding off until 66 at least for a couple reasons - 1st my wife will get her disbursements bumped up to 50% of mine; 2nd my disbursement will be taxable because of my military retirement income; 3rd the dollar value goes up. If I draw it at 62 1/3 my projected monthly income is $2k at age 70 it is expected to be $3.4k

CW5 Jack Cardwell. You are correct and the person that wrote the article is correct. Now when I retired from my civilian job I took a early retirement and took a SS offset that actually made me start drawing at 62. I kept my health insurance until I was 65 buy I have TFL now. My after service job paid very well and I build a lot of credit on my SS. I enjoyed retiring at 56.
