"No true Scotsman" argument.
To date I've seen little to suggest Gary Johnson does not hold the ideological principles behind libertarianism. On instances where he has made comments counter to that philosophy, there is often a follow-up clarifying his stance or even an apology as he has rethought it and realized his initial position was incorrect due to another fundamental issue.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS
PFC Jim Wheeler - No problem. It's a decent article, but it really does present a logical fallacy issue. How can Gary Johnson not be a Libertarian if he is the nominated head of party for this election cycle?
The argument Mr. McMullin is making is that Gov. Johnson is not "his brand" of Libertarian, which is a good argument, but not THE argument.
It would be like me pointing out that I disagree with him on Global Stability issues (which I do), but that doesn't make me less of a Libertarian, just means that I the amount of Force I am willing to apply PERSONALLY includes Global Stability (as a Deterrent).

If he was a Real and true Libertarian he would be a Lot more popular... with higher Ratings...
