Thanks for reminding us SP5 Mark Kuzinski that on May 15, 1941, the jet-propelled Gloster-Whittle E 28/39 aircraft flies successfully over Cranwell, England, in the first test of an Allied aircraft using jet propulsion. We tend to hear more about the Nazi jet-propelled ME-262 and the rocket propelled ME-163 Komet

I'd heard the story, the really nifty part in what youd gone into wasmthe whole aspect of jet to jet combat, that part is never heard, I'd heard brig gen Yeager, in ww2 had apparently shot down me262s, though in a turboprop aircraft, I don't recall what type, though jet to jet combat directly in ww2 I'd never actually run across, if you ever find more on that, I'd really love to see that. I'd heard of an instance oh helicopter medevac in Burma you might care to look up, well worth reading, just struck me as sim8larly novel, you know ?
