This is a very good history lesson. I have tried to read as much as I can on the Vietnam war to try and understand what our veterans went they over there. I had family there during this war. I don't think it was right the way the veterans were treated when they came back. I know the public was mad at the government for the war and the lost of life but they took it out on returning vets which was wrong.

Thank you for the comments about returning Vietnam vets the war was over for me nearly 50 years ago but the memories remain and I feel it was one of the defining periods of my life

SGT Philip Roncari - I respect all Veitnam veterans. I have a soft spot in my heart for all of them. I do not like what they had to go thru there or when they came home. They call allot of the stress problems back then shell shock now today they want to call it PTSD. All the same. Veterans have seen things and have had to do things civilians will never understand. If you want to survive you have to do certain things and have a different mind set. Problem is once you get it it's not always easy to get rid of it. You have my up most respect and I salute you sir. Rock Steady Troop.

SSG Leo Bell, SGT Philip Roncari, the way the left (=liberals) treated us when we came back is still fresh with me - especially when they show they haven't learned anything from the experience - except to hide their feelings a bit better.

Thanks for reminding me of news events from the 1960's SP5 Mark Kuzinski. I enjoyed reading about history since I was a child. At the time I didn't realize I was living through history. I expect each of us comes to that realization when we are older that we have experienced or lived through historical events. Thanks for posting the link to Operation Rolling Thunder which was our bombing campaign against North Vietnam. It is interesting that over 50 years later we are using a similar approach against ISIS but scaled back since our current sorties are much lower than the sorties sent out in Operation Rolling Thunder.
