SP5 Mark Kuzinski awesome share, I remember reading about this in High School. Truly amazing and unique for 1869.

I wonder how many of my People "Krauts" they had working on it. I know of two now. My Cousin William "Jeb Stewart" Nagel is one of the Controllers in Seattle and my Eldest Cousin Tommy is the Primary/Lead Investigator on all Rail Accidents (He used to send me the Investigation Pictures).

SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth - I've got a good mix. Mostly them Damn Southern Bavarians with that damn Bavarian Southern Drawl but of course some proper speaking, High German Speaking Prussians. Because I grew up in German Irish Communities sometimes I can follow a word or two with a Bavarian Accent but you start using that Prussian Accent I'm at a Loss, Sounds like you're choking on something.

Nagels (Nails) From Bavaria (Defenders of the Catholic Faith). Weslings (Suburb of Munich). Prussian Ronsieks (Hardcore Protestant/Lutherans) and Eastern German Jewish Lietz's. We fought against each other in the old country over Religion but came together in this Country over a Common Language, GERMAN which was the Dominant Language in St Louis and Southern Illinois for a Long Time. Kinda Like Mexican Spanish is here in Kansas City, Kansas.

SP5 Mark Kuzinski - I try, I think my own family history is Funny as Hell when put in the Proper Perspective. "That's not Funny that's Sick" Just a matter of Perspective, I'm alive and here despite the Odds against it and I think it's a Riot.

Nice share. This is an often and well discussed subject here in Cheyenne, being that F.E. Warren AFB was built in 1867 (Fort D.A. Russell then), to
Protect the workers of the Union Pacific building the transcontinental railroad. That rich history resonates here as Cheyenne owes its existence to both the railroad and the military.
