SFC (Join to see) I have an opinion which may be unpopular here. I think that we need to go back to the Pledge of Allegiance as it was originally written. Under God was written in during the McCarthy Era. It was a stupid anti communist thing. Additionally one of the great things about this country is our freedom worship as each individual sees fit. I think that too many bad things throughout history have happened "in the name of God."

Corporal punishment should be brought back in general. It is not just schools. It is society as a whole. When I was a kid, if I got out of line, I would receive a butt whipping. Learned the lesson real quick as to what is and what is not acceptable behavior, also learned where the clear boundaries were. Nowadays, a butt whipping leads to having the child taken away by social services, and possible criminal charges. I am not talking abuse. I am talking good ol' fashioned spankings. Kids today don't have boundaries, because setting a boundary is just a suggestion, and parents have no authority to enforce that.

Arming teachers, and society as a whole is a great idea. I am a firm believer that an armed society is a polite society. That means responsibly armed. Know how to operate the firearm, practice safe handling of the firearm, and for the love of all that is holy and good practice good marksmanship. Boy Scouts used to have a shooting merit badge. So there was a time when even children were taught marksmanship. We need to bring that back. Instead of fearing guns, respect them.
