I have set out several hummingbird feeders, when I'm outside they don't even give me a second thought. Taking pictures of these guys will require a high speed camera to photograph them properly.

Those wings move at an incredible speed SP5 Frank Hartless. Do they even make a camera that can capture them without a blur?

Cpl Vic Burk - Yes I'm Sure. Modern Electronic Camera's are not as bound by Film Speed/ASA, Shutter Speed.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Never tried to take a photo of one of those birds. I do admire the way they can defy gravity by "flying in place."

Cpl Vic Burk - Definitely would have been a Challenge Photographing One with My CANON TX, Put the Shutter at the Highest Speed, Using Fine Grain Film, High ASA and Need Plenty of Light.

I love sitting back some days and just watching the bird play. We have a little rock fountain in our yard. In the summer they will jump into the water and splash around like nobody's business even though it is only four feet from us. I guess they have become accustomed to us being there and we don't matter to them.
