In Search Of... The Coming Ice Age
Yes, 35 years ago in 1977, this was the thinking before the global warming malarkey we have now!
Let's allow for debate and differences of opinion. As you know, Leonard Nimoy was discussing in the late 70s Earth having an ice age right about now. Even the movie The Day After Tomorrow referred to an Ice Age like hurricane that would be at least a hundred below zero fahrenheit or colder bringing cold air that would basically Carbonite freeze people instantly. The Earth is warming as we know and the problem is most studies are funding that man is at fault. Even Canada is saying that it can't get away from exporting coal to make steel or to heat. we know China and North Korea are not really moving away from cold either. I know it sounds like a whataboutism but we have done meaningful reduction in carbon yet we can't get rid of carbon producing power plants even NPR said that you have issues with time lag and you need power plants to make up the slack between solar energy and other forms of energy.
Others here can't guilt me because I'm driving a 30 mile per gallon muscle car. My kids living a clean air area compared to the USA. My Province already has carbon taxes on carbon capture and it is suffering horrible Economic Consequences because of people not allowing this province to ship the oil south or west. Even the governor of Washington state bought oilf rom Vladivostok, Russia instead of buying oil from Alberta, Canada. This guy is running for president so the Washington State Ainsley guy is a real bright guy, not!

We have heard all kinds of Malthusian doom and gloom. None of it has panned out. The famines we have seen in the 20th century were never caused by a food supply issue, but rather political issues. We went into Somalia for that very reason. I don't believe we are even close to reaching carrying capacity yet.
