Very interesting, never knew this about employment in France. Companies here I worked for would hit a lull, draw a line under the highest paid people and the HR in their saddest voice would Furlough you.. very carefully structured so no unemployment benefits.. Part of being a contractor, oh well.. I did a days work, got paid for a days work, with a few benefits. Expected nothing else.

So do they "put you in the closet" when you have value and positively contribute to the bottom line?

They did that to General Shinseki after he questioned Rumsfeld in early 2003.

See what socialism does? Japan does the same with lame duck execs with an empty desk and a window. I heard this story yesterday on NPR so everyone is now not hired at all or hired part time. Full time permanent employment is the way to get your car loan or any loan approved.

So Much for "Viva La Revolution" Huh! Guess Thomas Payne going there to take the American Revolution to the "Next Level" didn't turn out so good.
