I just read this post and I ask myself how this generation of the Military does it, I mean the multiple deployments, the way they are treated by our Government during and after their deployments,ROIs,VA incompetence these people are a treasure this Country is wasting as a Vietnam vet my heart goes out to them,I can just fall back on our old standby as advice. "Don't mean nothin"

The treatments and such all suck. The thing that helps now is technology. With the internet and all, it doesn't make up for the fact that you're deployed, but it gets some face time with loved ones. Waiting months to hear how your wife and kids are doing is a thing of the past. I swear that the Viet Nam Vets had it worse than anybody and I will stand by that.

Never saw the Place, All I did was run OPDEC runs against IRAQ tease them make them think we were going to launch Tomahawks. Did it for a week to desensitize them and then another ship actually launched after a week.

An interesting and powerful story SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. In a couple weeks I'll go to a film screening about women vets who have returned from war. It should also be interesting with A Q&A afterwards. I have a book, When the Girls Come Marching Home. It too is a powerful story and women who have returned from war, some changed pysically, others changed mentally. The amount of sexual harassment that happens is unbelievable. But the book or get it at your local library; its well worth reading.
