What makes one film funnier than another? Generally, it seems to me that something may be funny in one moment and not another. For example, have you rewatched a film that you thought was funny when you first saw it, then been disappointed the next time? I have. Thus, I tend to rank funnier those films that I have watched multiple times and laughed just as hard. In fact, the anticipation, knowing what is coming, makes it even funner. Young Frankenstein definitely fits in that category. Just thinking about Office Space can have me on the floor laughing. So, I guess those two films go to the top of my list. Two films that I am tempted to put on my list - Blazing Saddles and Monty Pythons Holy Grail - suffer the same fatal flaw. Neither has an ending and I walked away from both feeling disappointed, the glow of laughing washed away. I'll still watch them again, but am distracted knowing that the let down is coming. I could think of a few more to add to my list but now I'm antsy to go watch Office Space again. Please excuse me...

I agree. Caddyshack still holds up well. Even Stripes is still funny, but maybe that is because I saw the movie at the post theater at Ft Stewart!
