Jails increasingly set aside cellblocks for veterans

It is based on the same concept as veterans treatment court. It is easier and safer if you group the vets together because in many ways they don't have much in common with the general prison population. They can also be targeted for the same reason so this is a much better alternative.

This concept is good in that most veterans, and I say most, still carry a discipline with them that civilian prisoners don't have and are less likely to get into a violent confrontation. I read somewhere that Veterans separated from the general population have a better disciplinary record when serving their time, they're areas are much cleaner, and the guards are less likely to encounter problems with them. Also, some prisons and jails have specialized treatment for TBI and PTSD while others have highly specialized job and educational programs. So I think it is better than living with gang members.

I'd seen material on the concept of veterans court though not this till now...assumedly, it's based on the same basic sort of philosophy, I'd expect....
