I give Brownback credit for doing what he said he would do. Unfortunately, what he did was fiscally unsound. Trickle down economics doesn't work. Businesses and entrepreneurs don't hire more people because they happen to have some cash, they do it because they recognize an opportunity. If they see the opportunity they will find a way to get the funds to exploit it. If the just get some extra cash with no associated opportunity, well thanks for the free money.

Without creating a growing tax base due to new job creation what the tax breaks actually cause is underfunding the state budgets, further causing infrastructure cutbacks that actually damage the business environment for the worse. The challenge has always been to achieve the right balance between taxing enough to run the infrastructure needed to grease the wheels of industry without creating overly burdensome taxes that suppress businesses and individuals. Anyone who tells you they are either going to keep raising or lowering taxes and then magically growth will happen probably isn't on sound ground.

Kansas went Whole Hog and gave the Tea Party Republicans everything they ever wanted, basically complete control of the State and it became and Instant Abortion. A state that once prided itself on the Education of it's Citizens was cited by the Judiciary (Thank God) for a total failure to Adequately Fund Education and the Main Reason for the Loss of Business in Kansas as cited by Companies that left was the Complete Ignorance of it's fiscal Policies.
