SSgt (Join to see) - French, Vietnamese, Laotian, Khmer, and a few local languages . . . were helpful in MEDCAP, triage, prep, recovery, and on the wards for allied patients, enemy patients, and men, women, and children who got in the middle. My very best formal Vietnamese was useful in ordering an Australian Intel guy and his two Vienamese protégés torturing a very young woman on my ward to . . . "call off his dogs and never darken my doorstep again!!!" Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

Tagalog and German, are you into self abuse. Probably the most challenging language I know of is Tagalog. Now German and English share an ancient Heritage so to quote my German Border-guard Minder during my time in Germany "If you speak English, You Speak German".
