I posted "I Drive Your Truck" on Memorial day and I was able to find the back story behind the song. The following excerpt comes from the Massachusetts Fallen Soldiers group on Facebook provided by Rick Long. He provided some photos as well; Facebook link provided at the bottom.
In 2012, singer songwriter Lee Brice released "I drive your truck", a song that went to country music song of the year the following year.
The "I" in the title is Paul Monti, a science teacher from Raynham. The truck's owner is his son Jared, who lost his life in Afghanistan in an action for which he received the Medal of Honor.
Six years ago, Paul was denied permission to place a flag on the grave of his son. The authorities didn't want to be left cleaning things up. Paul took it up the chain of command until he received permission - he could put it in, as long as he agreed to take it out a week later.
So that's what he did. On every one of the 52,000 graves in the Bourne National Cemetery.
It's now an annual Memorial Day event, hundreds of volunteers joining the Monti family in placing tens of thousands of flags.
I am humbled and rejuvenated, being in the company of so many Patriots.

Thanks for the post....great song, with a great meaning. The little things in life that we seem to forget...when someone passes. Then one day you see it, or come across it and the memories come flooding in.

Great post,that's where I plan to be buried when the time comes not too soon I hope! I can think of no better place than with my Brothers and Sisters and with the Flags flying no greater honor.
