Who remembers this famous quote from Hurricane Rita? Is America experiencing this right now?

We're coming up on the 10th anniversary of this now infamous quote. I was at Ft Dix getting ready to MOB when this came out and in many respects, truer words have not been spoken. Is our country in the midst of "Stuck on Stupid" right now?
